Find the tool for the job
Each category lists what you can download today and what's coming next, with target months.
Tools for the parts of trading that are easy to skip
Plain spreadsheets with a short guide in plain English. Example data is fictional.
Trading Journal & Risk Toolkit
Size every trade, cap your worst day and keep records your tax pro can actually use.
Wash-Sale & 1099‑B Year-End Workbook
Find possible wash sales your broker can't see, work out the basis adjustment and check your 1099-B before tax season.
Trader Records Bundle
Keep clean trade records all year, then check them against your 1099-B at tax time. Two tools, one price.

Risk-Fuse Calculator
Know your share size, your dollars at risk and when to stop for the day, before you place the trade.
PDT Is Gone: Free Explainer
What replaced the $25,000 pattern-day-trader rule, the dates that matter, the new 90-day freeze and what to ask your broker.
Three steps, all year
Set your rules once
Type your account size, the most you'll risk per trade, a position cap and a daily loss limit while you're calm.
Your limits, not ours. The defaults are only examples.
Log trades as you go
The sheets work out share size, track your daily loss fuse and keep one row per lot with cost basis and fees.
A cell turns red when a rule breaks.
Check it at year-end
Flag possible wash sales across accounts, IRA included, and line your records up against your broker's 1099-B.
Record-keeping, not tax advice. Your CPA decides.
What Process Lab is (and isn't)
Process over prediction
Every tool is about decisions you control: size, limits, records, review. You set your own rules; the sheet keeps you honest.
Tax-season ready
Lot IDs, accounts, cost basis with fees and wash-sale flags, so year-end is a check, not a reconstruction. Not tax advice; your CPA decides.
Plain, private and growing
Files you own, no subscriptions and no logins. New tools ship from a public roadmap; see what's coming soon. This site has no trackers or analytics cookies.
Try the math before you download anything
Both tools run entirely on your device. Nothing you type is sent or saved.
Process notes
Position sizing with a fixed % risk
How fixed-percentage risk position sizing works for US stocks: the formula, a worked $10,000 example (20 shares, $40 at risk), position caps, gaps, fees and a daily loss limit.
The PDT rule was replaced on June 4, 2026. Here's what changed.
FINRA's pattern day trader rule and $25,000 minimum were replaced by intraday margin standards on June 4, 2026 (SEC Release 34-105226, FINRA Notice 26-10). Key dates and broker questions.
How wash sales work, including the IRA trap
Wash sales explained for US stock and ETF traders: the 61-day window, partial wash sales, basis adjustments, the IRA trap (Rev. Rul. 2008-5) and why your 1099-B may not show them (IRS Pub 550).
How to keep a trading journal that actually improves your process
A practical trading journal method: what to record before and after each trade, a 5-question process score, weekly review steps and the tax-time fields that save hours. Education only.
Questions, answered
Do the spreadsheets work in Google Sheets?
Yes. Every spreadsheet is an .xlsx that opens in Excel and imports into Google Sheets with File > Import. The Toolkit and the Workbook also include a Google Sheets edition and a copy link.
What does Process Lab make?
Education-only tools for US stock and ETF traders, grouped in seven categories: tax and records, journal and risk, charts and patterns, planning and routine, rules and accounts, learning the basics, and bundles. A few are available today, and new ones are added from a public roadmap; each category page shows what's available and what's coming soon, with target months.
I'm new to trading. Where do I start?
Follow the Start Here path at /start-here/: six steps in order, from the basics and a written plan to position sizing, a journal, reading charts and tax-ready records. Each step starts with something free; a few of those free items are still coming soon.
Is any of this investment or tax advice?
No. Process Lab sells general educational spreadsheets, cheat sheets and guides, the same for every reader. Nothing here is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold a security, and the tax tools are record-keeping helpers. Confirm your situation with a CPA.
How do I get the files?
Purchases and free downloads are handled by Gumroad. You get an instant download link by email, and the files are yours to keep: no subscription and no login.
What if the files don't work for me?
30-day money-back guarantee. If the files don't work for you, email us within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.
Which markets do the tools cover?
US stocks and ETFs. There are no crypto or futures tools, and today there are no options tools.
Do the free browser tools save what I type?
No. The calculators run entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere and nothing is saved.
